The daughter of Eduardo and Encarna Penelope Cruz is a spanish actress. She finished her second year of secondary school and had done 4 years of dance performance with Cristina Rota in Nueva York. Her academic curriculum includes: several dance classes at New York, three years of Spanish ballet with Angela Garrido, nine years of classic ballet at Conservatorio Nacional and also had Jazz Dance with Raul Caballero.

Penelope Cruz was ranked as #51 in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2005. She claims her role in Bigas Luna's "Jamon, Jamon" psychologically scarred her for life. Also she claims that Victoria Abril's powerful performance in Pedro Almodovar's Atame (1990) determined her to become an actress.

Penelope Cruz had done many charitable works. She donated her entire salary of The Hi-Lo Country (1998) film to Mother Teresa's children's sanctuary in Calcutta. She also spends a week there as volunteer. She also founded a Sabera Foundation, a non-government organization (NGO).

With Nacho Cano and other Spanish entertainers, set up a home, a clinic for homeless girls and peoples suffering from tuberculosis in Calcutta, and a school. The Spanish TV made two documentary programs for this project but because of differences in the opinions caused a collapse in the project. The Sebera Foundation no longer exists.
