Scarlett is an American film actress who rose to fame with her role in 1998's The Horse Whisperer. She became one of Hollywood's most sought-after young actresses after her critically acclaimed roles in Lost in Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring, both earning her Golden Globe Award nominations in 2003.

Scarlett Johansson has received an introducing credit for her performance as Grace in The Horse Whisperer (1998). Although it was her seventh feature film she earned her a Hollywood Reporter Young Star Award. Before that her role in Manny & Lo (1996) received an Independent Spirit Awards.

She began acting when she was a kid, first on the New York stage, then in feature films, including North (1994) and Just Cause (1995). Scarlett Johansson's acting career was launched in the off-Broadway production of 'Sophistry' with Ethan Hawke.

Scarlett Johansson is a husky-voiced young beauty starred with Bill Murray in the Sofia Coppola film Lost in Translation (2003) and titled as young woman at loose ends in Tokyo. At that time she was of 19 years old.

Scarlett Johansson acted in several films, including An American Rhapsody, The Man Who Wasn't There, and Eight Legged Freaks, before she made the two films that got her the Golden Globe nominations. She also made The Perfect Score and A Love Song for Bobby Long in 2004. She was nominated for her performance in the title role in Girl With a Pearl Earring.
