Will Smith was born on 25th September 1968. He was second of four children of Caroline and Willard Smith Sr. His father was owner of a refrigeration company. Though Smith grew up in middle class West Philadelphia, he got the nickname 'Prince' because of the way he could handle the problems. As Smith loves music a lot, When he met Jeff Townes at a party and they soon began performing together as DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

When this pair 'Smith and Jeff' got much popularity, Smith made, and spent a lot of money on a house, cars and jewelry. But then Smith was looking for some change in 1989, he met Benny Medina, who put idea for a sitcom based on his life in Beverly Hills. Will Smith loved that idea as he did NBC which put on the 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' in 1990.

Will basically played himself as a street-smart West Philly kid transplanted to Beverly Hills and this series lasted 6 years. During that period, Will ventured into movies where the critics took note of him in Six Degrees of Separation in 1993. In 1995 the success that came with the action picture Bad Boys, his movie career was mostly settled.
