He comes from a sport-orientated family as his brother John was an All-American tennis player at the university of Georgia, while his oldest brother Lawrence was a good spring board driver. Still very young, Roddick finished the 1999-2000 year as the #1 in the US junior league, and he finished #1 junior in the world in 2000. While in the juniors, Andy won six singles titles and seven doubles titles. After he turned pro, in 2000, he quickly became well-known of the public, as he already had very solid results in 2001. As another accomplishment made by Andy, he has achieved the highest rank for the first season as a pro for any former #1 junior. Even now, Roddick keeps playing outstanding tennis and "A-Rod" is a worthy successor of players like Pete Sampras in the past.
